Absolutely not! Interiors can be brought to life by the utilization of this product. Fireplaces, accent walls, Eaves Stone can be used anywhere your inspiration leads!
The color is blended throughout during the manufacturing process and permanent mineral oxide pigments are applied and absorbed when the stone is cast. The color therefore becomes an integral part of the product and should be expected to “age” similar to natural stone.
Efflorescence naturally disappears over time as long as the moisture source is controlled or removed. It can also be removed with a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 6 parts water. Scrub with a soft bristle brush and rinse with clean water.
Efflorescence is usually the result of moisture migrating through the masonry substrate. When the moisture is on the masonry surface, it evaporates, depositing dissolved salts forming “efflorescence.”
It is not necessary to seal Eaves Stone, however, we recommend a water-based sealer be applied to help prevent water from penetrating into the surface. A proper sealer will also help prevent efflorescence.
Eaves Stone products range in thickness from approximately ¾’’ to 3’’
Because of the differences in stone styles the weight of Eaves Stone products will vary, however, in general our products will average 10-12 pounds per square foot.
No support ledge is required. Eaves Stone is an adhered veneer and is “stuck” to the wall by the mortar bond.
Never use any form of acid based cleaner! To remove dirt or other foreign particles first use a simple soft bristle brush. If necessary use a solution of mild detergent and water and scrub the surface with a soft brush. Rinse with clean water to remove any cleaning solution.
Installed, Eaves Stone is roughly 1/3 to ½ the cost of natural stone. Its lighter weight eliminates the need for wall ties or additional footing supports. As a manufactured product it is environmentally friendly and can be had in many different styles and colors today and in the future. No need to worry about using a product that can’t be duplicated 20 years down the road!
